Announcing Headlines Craniofacial Support as Charity of the Year

Premium desserts manufacturer, Just Desserts Yorkshire are delighted to announce Headlines Craniofacial Support as their charity of the Year.

Headlines is the leading UK charity supporting people with craniosynostosis and other rare craniofacial conditions.  Headline’s vision is to create a world where the physical, psychological, and social impacts of craniosynostosis and rare craniofacial conditions are no more.

Craniosynostosis affects approximately 1 in 2,000 births in the UK every year. It may occur as part of a genetic syndrome such as Apert, Muenke, Crouzon, Saethre-Chotzen, and Pfeiffer syndromes.

The team at Just Desserts Yorkshire will be kicking off their fundraising campaign with a sponsored 13-mile walk from Roberts Park in Saltaire, along the canal, finally arriving in Skipton. The walk that is to take place on Saturday 6 August has already raised an amazing £1,800 for the charity.

Kate Williams, General Manager of Just Desserts comments “At Just Desserts, we have seen firsthand the effects that a diagnosis of Craniosynostosis can have on a family with a very young baby. We’re excited to be fundraising for Headlines over the next year as we know how invaluable their support is during what can be a very worrying and distressing time for all involved. We are delighted to be able to support such a great Charity.”

Donna Connett, Charity Administrator for Headlines comments “As a very small charity, we were absolutely thrilled to learn that we had been chosen by Just Desserts as their charity of the year.  Every penny they raise really will make a difference to our work in supporting those affected by craniosynostosis and rare craniofacial conditions.  We are very grateful indeed.”
